Major Changes in THIS House!!

I have exciting news!!!  You guys know that I have moaned and groaned about my hubby and his ability to just drop weight.  Well, as much as I gripe he really needs to lose this weight and he has never lost any unless he did a radical atkins diet.

I hope this doesn’t offend anyone on the atkins diet, but I personally think that has to be one of the unhealthiest diets you could possibly do.  While on the atkins diet, my poor hubby either was constantly constipated or he had insane diarreah.  His stomach bothered him the entire time.  He did lose 100 lbs, but gained it all back plus some in the 6 months after he quit atkins.

He was very sceptical about our new healthy eating.  He didn’t think he would lose weight.  As you guys know, he has been losing weight like crazy.  Today he moved down a pants size!!!!  He was really pushing it on the old ones when we started this life changing journey.  I’m so excited for him!  I still wish he would exercise because I want him to be healthier, not just lighter.  But maybe once he gets some of this weight off, he will want to be more active.

I also have so changes to report.  I still haven’t gone on the scale this week which is MAJOR!  I didn’t realize I was a scale junky until I decided to not weigh myself this week until weigh in on Friday.  Of my four goals, staying off the scale has been the hardest by far.  So I’m really really proud of myself. (pats self on back!)

I have another even major and exciting change.  I have muscle in my arm!!!  I have always been very weak in my upper body.  My legs are super strong from years of riding horses, but I have never, ever had arm muscles.  About a week ago, I started adding a few arm strengthing exercises.  I would never have imagined that they would have worked so quickly if I didn’t see it and feel it for myself.  I had to show hubby.  Although he thought I was a little crazy, he agreed that you could definetly see the beginnings of little peanut muscles in my arms.

I’m not buff, don’t get me wrong.  But you can actually see the muscle change the shape of my arm when I flex it!!!  Under that layer of fat is a newly formed arm muscle!  I want sexy arms so bad.  This has just encouraged me to keep up those arm exercises even more.

Changes are taking place in my house!!!  I couldn’t be happier.

Now, if the laundry could somehow manage to get done without me involved…..

I remember when I first started feeling those little muscles coming out too in my arms. It’s a great feeling to see the work you are doing paying off! I tried the adkins diet too and it was too much meat for me! I do watch my carbs but not as restrictively as the adkins.

I am happy for you and your husband and glad that things sound like they are going well for you! It is great that the two of you sound like you are doing the weightloss together! Yay!!

Haha, I love the last comment! I would agree with that completely.

I think it’s great that your hubby is losing weight using this new healthy life style of just eating better! I agree with you completely on the adkins diet…I’ve only seen it work for one person and we were all very surprised by this! Hopefully he will see you working out and then decided that he wants to start doing that too! My parents have both been eating and exercising so well and looking great…that’s what lit my fire to start back up again so it is contagious!

As for your new muscles that is awesome! Keep up the awesome work and you will start having even sexier arms then you were wanting! :-) I need to start adding some weights into my working out as well! Thanks for the awesome idea! ;-)

:D I bet the more hubby loses…the more his interest in exercise will come about.
As for you Miss! GREAT job…on the scale and the peanut muscles :D

    WOOOO!
    Arm bumps!
So I’m NOT the only one showing off faint outlines of muscle to my sweetie and getting “that look” in return!
how in the world did you convince your man t eat healthy?
Mine is healthy enough but orders out (I feel bad, because of gym I cant cook dinner and he’s too lazy to heat any up!) and has HUGE proportions because he is always hungary!
    Clue me in wonderlady!

LOL!! You really have a lot of wonderful news to report and I couldn’t be happier!! I know what you mean about the muscles on your arms…that’s how excited I was when I discovered the outline of my abs….there’s plenty flab in my abdominal area, BUT the dimples of a possible future six-pack is starting to show—exciting!! SO I know how you feel!! Congrats to you and hubby!!

Yay for peanut muscles soon they’ll be the size of kiwi’s lol keep it up it’s amazing feeling and seeing all the muscle you worked hard to produce.

I know someone who did atkins and can’t eat meat anymore because it just sits and rots in her stomach instead of digesting now she has to stick to a vegetarian diet. Oh how I love fad diets.

I’ll give you a pat on the back for not getting on the scale. I gave mine up 2 weeks ago haven’t stepped foot on it and actually I put it out of site and it actually goes out of mind I never thought it would work. I weighed several times a day everyday. Good job staying off until your weigh in your a strong woman :o)

You go girl. I am so proud of you. I use to be a scale junky but I would get so depressed. I have been staying off of it lately too. I weighed in this morning and was surprised that I had lost 5 pounds. I figure a lot of it was from being sick (which I still am) b/c I havent worked out a lick other than cleaning house.

It’s great that the two of you are working on this together. I wish I could find someone to work on this with me but my b/f is very thin and doesn’t need to lose any weight. I tried to recruit his daughter to do this together with me but she is 19 and too busy to be bothered! GRRR Congrats on the muscles! You two are doing great! Keep it up!
